I'm going to the flamenco show today, the poster said it was 1 hour and 45 minutes long, with no intervals... and late arrivals would not be admitted!

I love that kind of mentality... you either take part completely or you don't, but then again someone is going to have a genuine problem and be unable to make it.

One must take every precaution nessecery.

In saying that,

Also, a lady with a head scarf walked onto the train, all flowery and pretty... and what came to mind is all the hogwash about how women should not wear alluring clothing as not to seduce men etc...

I don't know who came up with this, but surely the problem here is men and not the women's attractive nature to a man?

I sat with someone on the train today who spoke to me about the inherent difference between someone from the Arab world and someone from the Andolu or Anatolia (mainland turkey)

And thus, living in the Anatolia like how someone might live in the Hejaz is wrong and should be avoided.

The fact is, life is life. Someone said to me today that if these "powers that be" were doing it for the sake of religion.. In the way you try to convince a friend of a good deal... if their aim was to actually sincerely be convincing people of Islam.. Then it wouldn't be such a bad thing.. However what they are aiming to do is to take power! They want ultimate power over the state!

I don't understand the connections that were made here. If you believe that what you have is something that might benefit another it’s ok then, to try and convince them on a personal level but not on a global level? I guess the comparison has to be made of those who are Muslim by faith and others who are Muslim solely by faith and who use a different economics and politics in unison with Islam. Does that even work?

Che Guevara might be dead and buried. However his thoughts of guerrilla warfare are still in use till this day. Is this because they venerate him and his memory by fighting as he did, or is that his method of combat actually works.

The same can be said for the "fear" these individuals have of a certain number of Muslims taking power.

Here has to be drawn a line. Never was Islam forced on anybody where the choice was Islam or death.. None but what took place between the ottomans and the Safavids. There are also a few accounts of people being compelled to take up Islam as the only alternative directly due to their actions predicating the ultimatum.

The Quran says there is no coercion in matters of faith. These aforementioned predicates' are not matters of faith. They are matters of life and death and the actions of such people caused actual harm to a mass of people and the option to submit to what will undoubtedly control them.

The food was bought, the foot was cooked, the rice was made late and the chicken was a little dry. The rice was completely Mexican.

I learnt new words in Spanish, and met a Greek South African and another Arab. A vegetarian came and so did Haidar.

The aforementioned individual’s partner didn't speak much, although he was curious as to what I was rolling up and smoking... the hostess was as cute as ever and ever so lively.. And the hostess of the night was a charm.
